My name is Bernard Cunningham, but most people know me as “The Beast.”
I am a Pro Natural Bodybuilder, personal trainer, gym owner, and NGA promoter with over 30 years of training experience helping people transform their bodies and their mindset.
For over three decades, I have dedicated my life to bodybuilding, strength training, and helping people build discipline, strength, and the mindset to win.
I have been competing in bodybuilding since 2004, winning numerous competitions and being featured in newspapers for my incredible physique and accomplishments in natural bodybuilding. My dedication to the sport has earned me recognition not only for my physique, but also for my discipline, work ethic, and commitment to helping others reach their full potential.Throughout my career, I have also been featured on promotional flyers and event materials within the bodybuilding community.
But the real reason people train with me isn’t because of trophies.
It’s because of the results they achieve.
At The Beast S&D Fitness, I help people:
• Lose stubborn body fat
• Build lean muscle and real strength
• Develop discipline and confidence
• Follow a structured training system that works
• Transform their body and mindset
This isn’t just about workouts.
It’s about building a mindset that wins.
You don’t just train here.
You evolve here.
The Mindset Behind The Beast
Everything I have accomplished in bodybuilding and business comes from one philosophy:
Grind. Focus. Conquer.
Grinding when others quit.
Staying focused when things get difficult.
Conquering challenges that most people walk away from.
That mindset is the foundation behind The Beast S&D Fitness.
Where That Mindset Was Forged
My understanding of true strength didn’t come only from competing on stage.
It also came from my family.
My father was a bodybuilder who once won seven trophies at a Musclemania competition. Shortly after that victory, he was tragically shot three times at close range during a robbery and nearly lost his life.
After years of recovery and rehabilitation, I encouraged him to return to the bodybuilding stage.
When he stepped back on stage, he accomplished something incredible.
He won first place.
That moment was powerful for both of us because it was also the first bodybuilding competition I ever competed in, and we were both featured in the newspaper — him for his incredible comeback and me for stepping on stage for the first time.
Seeing that level of determination and resilience showed me what true strength and discipline really look like.
That experience helped shape the mindset I bring to The Beast S&D Fitness every day.
The Meaning Behind S&D
But the story behind the name S&D runs even deeper.
S&D represents my twin brother, who was tragically killed at the age of 20 during a gun-down shooting that occurred during a high-speed chase.
Losing him changed my life forever.
That pain could have destroyed me.
Instead, it gave me purpose.
Everything I have built — the gym, the brand, the competitions, and the mission — is done in honor of him.
The Beast S&D Fitness stands for Strength and Discipline, and it represents the legacy I carry forward every single day.
My Mission
Through my gym and coaching programs, I help people:
• Build real strength
• Develop discipline
• Transform their bodies
• Build unstoppable confidence
I am also the promoter of NGA The Beast S&D Fitness Southeastern, where I help athletes step on stage, compete, and grow within the sport of natural bodybuilding.
My goal is not just to train people.
My goal is to push people beyond limits they thought they could never break.
Because when you truly commit to the process, something powerful happens.
You stop chasing results.
You become the result.
This is more than fitness.
This is more than bodybuilding.
This is a mindset.
Grind. Focus. Conquer.
Welcome to The Beast Movement. 💪
